The Global Marine Litter Information Gateway contains 21 sections with information on the marine litter situation in that particular regional sea area. When available, you will find the following information in each section:

Regional information

  • Regional conventions, or other major agreements.
  • Regional marine and coastal actions plans, and other major initiatives.
  • Regional governmental and non-governmental (including private) actors.
  • Regional state-of-the-environment reports, and other descriptions of the environmental situation.
  • Examples of regional practical action (cases and practices).

National information within the region

  • National authorities and organizations.
  • National action plans, etc.
  • National cases (practical action).
